Hello there and welcome to my new blog - my first blog actually. I've intended on starting one of these on numerous occasions over the past few years, but always let the ambition fall to the wayside. That's due in large part to the fact that I really don't like writing about myself or my life very much. Yeah, I know, it's ironic. A writer that doesn't like to write.
Don't get me wrong, I like being me and I love my life. I think that I've had more than my fair share of amazing experiences, but in the end I'm a present/future centered kind of guy. I don't spend a lot of time reflecting before moving on to the next thing. As a result, memories tend to fade fast, leaving me with general summaries in the place of any kind of vivid recollections.
Which brings me to the first reason for starting this blog - to better document and reflect on my own experiences as they happen in the hopes of better holding on to those precious moments that define us all.
Another reason is to keep distant friends updated on the goings on of my life and provide a forum for interacting with them that isn't a social networking site.
I also hope to specifically highlight my current efforts in regards to all manner of creative endeavors with the hope of keeping me on-task and accountable to meeting my own goals. I also hope to get input and feedback from friends and peers on said endeavors. With some sustained effort I hope to be make some real headway this year in regards to my larger professional goals. While I'm sure there will be setbacks, I'm optimistic and look forward to reporting here on that process as it happens.
Before I close out this introductory post, I just want to say that I'm not doing this to pull in a huge number of readers. If only a dozen or so of of you hang around to join in the fun, I'll be happy.
